When it comes to finding a holiday that has all the right ingredients – great weather, beautiful scenery, world class accommodation and affordability – you can’t really go wrong with taking a holiday to Spain. Spain has been the hands down favourite destination of UK holiday makers since the idea of cheap flights and package holidays began, and thanks to huge investment in tourism and the close proximity to the UK, it continues to enjoy huge popularity. For cheap holidays Spain is by far the most travelled, but where is the best place to take a Spanish holiday to in 2009?
The most popular destination for UK tourists is Benidorm, on the Costa Blanca which makes a great romantic getaway or a holiday where you can really ‘get away from everything’ and enjoy life at a much slower pace than it seems to fly by back home. Of course, you can enjoy it without having to worry about the weather as well, as Benidorm remains sunny throughout the year, reaching very warm temperatures for months on end during the summer season.
For such cheap holidays, Spain can offer a huge amount of excitement for the money! The Balearics really need no introduction – Ibiza is well known the world over for being one of the best places to party and it’s only a few hours away from the UK by plane. If you’ve done Ibiza and want something new and exciting but still with guaranteed nightlife that will blow you away, Majorca’s party resort of Magaluf offers up clubs that can easily compete with the world’s party island.
Keep in mind that because it’s so close and offers such cheap holidays, Spain can get very busy during the summer months, especially with the younger 18-30 crowds. To avoid the huge crowds, try booking just before or after the official ‘summer’ season is open – you’ll not only find cheaper flights and accommodation, but many clubs are much cheaper as well.
