Cyprus holidays are a favourite destination for romantic getaways and honeymooning couples thanks to the islands beautiful scenery, amazing climate and stunning and immersive culture. The island is a wonderful stepping stone for three continents and although the feeling of east meeting west isn’t quite as prevalent as it might be on the mainland, there are still many parts of the island where it’s easy to see a unique fusing of culture that you simply won’t find anywhere else.
The island has its fair share of resorts, from affordable beach side apartments to luxury hotels and villas which are ideal for large groups of families, and might not even be as expensive as you think. One of the most famous resorts on the island is Ayia Napa, which is well known for being the party capital of the island and a great choice for people who are looking to have a good time. Cyprus holidays to Ayia Napa offer nightlife which can nearly rival that of Ibiza and during the day before going to the clubs you can spend your time either shopping or on the beach, where a variety of boat trips and watersports are available.
Of course, not everyone is in to clubbing and in reality the vast majority of the landscape in Cyprus, especially in-land, is quite untouched by tourism. The cooler areas such as the Akamas peninsula offer up great walking and hiking adventures in the land of myths and legends but also some fantastic scenery that’s a bit more tangible - such as authentic vineyards and churches. For a relatively small island, Cyprus has managed to cram a lot of culture onto its shores!
The best time for Cyprus holidays is in the summer, although you could even go to the island for a skiing holiday in the Troodos Mountains during the winter and early spring, so depending on what you are looking for Cyprus can offer year round holiday options.
