Although taking a holiday abroad has stayed very popular in recent years, there’s actually a large amount of people – usually those in their older years – that have never even been on holiday to a foreign country, or haven’t gone abroad for a very long time. Why don’t people get away? The biggest reasons for many are financial, but others are worried about how confusing it has become to book holidays abroad while others simply don’t like flying or don’t like the idea of spending a long time travelling. Others just think that a break in England is good enough.

However, while England can offer some stunning holidays itself, the weather often lets you down and booking a holiday for when it will be sunny is just about impossible even in the middle of the summer months. Holidays abroad can offer guaranteed sunshine and many resorts - especially those in Spain and Europe - have been designed especially with the British holiday maker in mind, so if you’re worried about the local food or language, these really aren’t a problem on a typical beach holiday.

If you don’t like flying, taking the train to Europe or even getting a coach is easier and cheaper than it’s ever been before, especially if you already live in London or Kent and don’t have far to travel in order to get to one of the stations serviced by the trains. Using trains to take a holiday abroad couldn’t be easier and they are one of the fastest and most comfortable ways to see some of Europe’s most stunning cities such as Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin.

Holidays abroad no longer drain the finances like they used to, providing you are flexible about where you want to go. Budget airlines and special offers can reduce the price even further, so maybe now is the best time to ditch the soggy British beach holiday and take a holiday to somewhere a little more exotic!
