Holidays in Ibiza have remained popular since holidays abroad began to gain popularity over 40 years ago. The island initially become popular with tourists – especially those from the UK – thanks to its paradise setting, great climate, expansive beaches and its close proximity to the UK. In face, the island is only a few hours away on plane. Of course, these days the island is more famous for its nightclubs and being the party capital of the world than it is for its beaches, but that doesn’t mean that Ibiza only offers something for the 18-30 crowd.
In fact, holidays in Ibiza are exciting for just about any age group, albeit for different reasons. Resorts around Ibiza Town vary from the all night party resorts to places that are actually ideal for seniors or families and that offer attractive beach holidays, often for less than the price of a week’s holiday in another city back in the UK! Budget flights have only continued making holidays in Ibiza even cheaper, so if you’ve got a large family it’s a great option. The island has plenty to entertain children as well as young adults, and many resorts on the southern end of the island are designed far more around family holidays than the party holidays the island is famous for.
However, if it is parties you are looking for, the area on San Antonio is a great choice which offers some of the biggest and best value clubs on the island and is close to some of the best shopping spots and beaches as well, so you’ll find your entire break covered. The beaches on the island can vary from incredibly busy to virtually deserted depending on the type of holiday you’re looking for, so you’ll need to do some research before you go. In order to avoid the larger crowds, taking holidays in Ibiza before May and after August are recommended – you’ll find yourself saving money on flights, accommodation and even drinks at that point, as well!
