Turkey’s unique geographical location between Europe and Asia makes it like no other place on the earth, mixing the diverse culture of Europe with the powerful and instantly recognisable culture of Asia and coming out with something more than the sum of its parts. It’s easy to imagine Turkey as simply being half Asian and half European, but instead the whole country acts like a melting pot of cultures to create something that you simply won’t see anywhere else.

Even better, holidays to Turkey are about as close to Paradise as you can get without a long haul flight, and can offer all the bonuses of a budget holiday (that is, you don’t have to spend hours on a plane and you don’t have to spend your entire years wages getting there!) with the luxury and exotic nature of going further afield. The country has a huge range of coastlines so you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to taking beach holidays to Turkey – there’s the Lycian Coast, Turkish Riveria and Aegean Coast all waiting to be explored, and each offers a slight different holiday experience.

There’s just as much variety in the countries many resorts which range from the most basic budget apartments to villas and penthouse accommodation. You’ll find plenty of all inclusive holidays to the country as well, although unless you plan to take full advantage of everything the resort has to offer, you might want to consider self catering simply because the local food will be more varied, exciting and best of all – pretty cheap, especially if you travel a bit further out from the main resorts.

The best time to take holidays to Turkey is from early spring to the end of autumn where you’ll find temperatures remaining more than high enough to enjoy the beach, reaching the sweltering high thirties in the summer months. Travelling to turkey earlier or later in the year is an option, but only if you want to see the sights or explore the country itself as it’s generally too cold at that point to enjoy a full beach holiday!
