Buying a holiday can often be a tricky business. Unless you happen to have brought a new house or car this year, it’s probably the biggest amount of money you’ll spend at once, and now money is more important than ever and everyday things like bills and food are getting more and more expensive, you want to know that your holiday is offering you the absolute best value for money. Trouble is, the same hotel at the same resort in the same week can offer hugely differing prices depending on how you’ve booked, so how can you avoid being ripped off and find some truly cheap hotel deals?
The best cheap hotel deals are found by people who don’t really mind where they end up. Obviously this works best if you have very vague idea of what you want and if you’re going somewhere where the flights are also cheap. For UK holidays makers, this often means that the best cheap hotel deals are ones that are offered last minute to the most popular destinations such as Spain, Greece and Turkey.
If you do want to go further afield then things can get a bit more difficult but just because there are less last minute offers available doesn’t mean you need to be ripped off. Here’s where the internet really comes into its own for finding cheap hotel deals – you can take a look at all hotels in your area and usually, see them sorted by the cheapest first. The key here isn’t to simply grab the cheapest hotel though – a good cheap hotel deal gives you everything you need for the best price, where the absolute cheapest in a list may not have the amenities you need. Even worse, it might be in the totally wrong location, miles away from the actual beach!
You can also find cheap hotel deals by booking a hotel in combination with the flight itself which is how many websites operate. This could potentially save you hundreds of pounds if you find the right combination, but you do need to spend a little time doing some research.
