Just hearing the words ‘Caribbean Islands’ conjures up excitement and exotic images.  The beaches, the locals, the meandering rivers…I will let you plug in the adjectives as there are just simply too many to list.

If we are going to holiday in the Caribbean Islands, we can’t hold back.  Let’s go to Cuba, the largest of them all.  A Cuba holiday would bring us to the westernmost island in the Greater Antilles.

While not all airlines serve Cuba, let ULookUBook.com take care of all that.  Let’s not worry about getting there.  Let’s enjoy visioning what we’ll be doing on our Cuba holiday once we land.  That is why we holiday, right?

When coming to Cuba, you should definitely spend time in the World Heritage Site capital of the country, Havana.  Wander the streets where literary legends Graham Greene & Ernest Hemingway once strolled.  Let the music hit you with salsa, mambo, and the rumba.  Maybe you want to push the envelope with the rumba and try the cha-cha-cha.

After your time in Havana, head a couple hours east to Varadero.  This port city is also referred to as Playa Azul, which is “Blue Beach” in Spanish.  Any water sport you can think of is possible here!

If you want to be on the coast, but are looking for a more secluded getaway, head south to the tiny island Cayo Largo del Sur.  Both Christopher Columbus & Sir Francis Drake are said to have stopped here.  I don’t know why they left.  In the south of this limestone island, you will witness possibly the clearest water you could ever see.  Also, don’t bother about asking the weather for tomorrow.  It is 26C practically every day.

Since you made the journey over, you might want to check out what some other journeymen came across when they got their first glimpse of land and were awestruck by the San Pedro de la Roca Castle.  This 17th-Century castle in Santiago was constructed for fear of pirates.  Withstanding earthquakes, battles, and inevitable aging, this fortress was used again in the Spanish-American war over 200 years after being constructed.

Before you leave and with the savings of ULookUBook.com, grab a world-famous cigar… a little present for yourself.  You do deserve it, right?
