We might be more than half way through the year but for holidays 2009 is still in full swing and has quite some way to go before it’s over! Many families will now be booking their holidays for 2010, trying to find the best deals in the summer holidays by booking early. However, if you’ve not got kids and you don’t have to worry too much about your work schedule, you can find much better savings and go away much sooner by taking holidays 2009.
While holidays will remain expensive through August and September, as soon school starts again and the temperature begins to drop, you’ll find that prices also plummet despite the fact that the quality of the holidays you can receive are exactly the same! In fact, many destinations are often much nicer after the summer rush when the temperatures are much cooler and there are far less crowds around.
For holidays, 2009 winter season is set to be a great place to get a bargain as the credit crunch dissuades more and more people from taking a trip abroad and airlines and hotels lower their prices in order to entice people back. If you’re looking to go in October you can start looking for a last minute holiday in the last week of September and could easily be on a plane a week later.
It’s important to remain flexible when you’re looking for last minute deals but keep a look out for Greece and other Mediterranean destinations as these will still be very warm around this time of year. If you’re not after high temperatures then you could consider going to a summer hotspot but doing things a little differently, treating the canary and Balearic islands as walking and hiking hotspots rather than beach holidays. You could also consider a short city break which are also cheaper once the temperature takes a hot and are not as reliant on sunny weather as outside orientated holidays.
