Holidays in October give you the perfect chance to escape the UK weather just as winter is really starting to hit. Many places still have high temperatures and often offer a better value and more relaxed holiday than in the middle of the season. Popular European destinations for holidays in October include Greece, Cyprus and Turkey. These areas still offer high temperatures and are perfect to catch some late summer sun. As well as this the slightly lower temperatures than during the high season means that it is possible to explore further into the local area and take in the history and sights of the country. These resorts are often a lot less crowded in October leading a more laid back atmosphere, ideal if you are looking for a relaxing break instead of a party holiday. If you are looking to travel further afield destinations such as Kenya or Cuba are also perfect for holidays in October. These destinations offer a chance to enjoy the sun whilst taking in the culture of these interesting countries. Kenya offers the chance to mix long days on the beach with exciting safari trips to see the “big five” whereas Cuba offers a fun and bubbling culture with a deep history. Good value deals can be found for both these countries. Although offers are still available Spain is not the ideal destination for holidays in October the weather can be changeable and not as hot as some of the eastern European countries. However this may be an advantage to those looking to visit cities in Spain rather than beach resorts. Recently resorts in the Balkans have been taking off for late summer holidays. Resorts in countries such as Croatia and Bulgaria offer high temperatures and unspoilt beaches but are often better value than other more well known destinations.
