July is well known as the busiest month in the year to go on holiday and because of this it’s also the most costly. However, while it would be easy for us to simply say ‘Don’t go on July holidays’, we know that the reason it’s busy it’s because it’s the first chance for parents and kids to get away on a family holiday, and after a year of school and work it’s no surprise that the only thing on most people’s minds is doing as little as possible in the sun.
If the thought of high prices and crowded resorts put you off, there are some advantages to taking July holidays. You have just about the entire pick of destinations during the summer months – providing your staying in the northern hemisphere of course – which means you don’t have worry if a destination is going to be rainy or colder than you might expect, which people travelling around the fringes of the summer season do have to deal with.
The way to approach July holidays isn’t to sit around waiting for that last minute deal that you might have done only a month earlier – it’s too book as far in advance as you can. The longer the amount of time between your deposit and your payment, the better offers you’ll find on an advance booking. This is especially useful because it means not only do you have an excellent choice of destinations but if you book early enough, you’ll have your choice of resort as well.
Popular destinations fill up quickly, but so do popular resorts. In July the ones that are the most packed are the ones with the best facilities for children, especially ones with free crèche facilities or child activity groups, so if you want your children to be able to make the most out of your holiday, booking your July holidays for 2010 right now is a very good idea.
