While not everyone enjoys them, a beach holiday is many people’s idea of paradise, especially if they’ve spent the last year sitting at work where they closest thing they get to warmth is a walk past the nearest radiator and the idea of sand and sun seems like a million miles away. Only 30 years ago the idea of heading around the world to stay at a first class resort was just about unheard of, but thanks to cheaper flights, budget airlines and a huge range of different holiday resorts, UK holidaymakers can travel to just about anywhere in the world in search of the perfect beach holiday.

Beach holidays offer a relaxing experience that is a complete change of pace for many people who live hectic lives back home. The great thing about heading to a beach is that you’ve got very little organisation or budget worries once you get there, and your days can be spent just idling away the time, talking, drinking and enjoy the sunshine. In the evenings you can take a slow walk down the coast, go out to a posh restaurant or even spend the night clubbing until the early hours of the morning.

You don’t have to spend every day tanning either, unless you want too! A beach holiday can offer up a variety of different watersports and depending on the location you may even be able to go diving on coral reefs or swimming with dolphins, although obviously if you want to do something like this you might have to consider booking in advance and paying extra above the standard price for your beach holiday.

If you do somehow get tired of the sun and sand, the beauty of a beach holiday – especially those to exotic islands – is that paradise is only a stones throw away from some great scenic, cultural and shopping destinations.
