When we go shopping most of us make sure to take advantage of every special offer available, and some of us even get drawn into deals in supermarkets for stuff we didn’t even need to buy just because of the idea of saving money! Still, despite being so interested in saving money on the price of food where the potential savings can be measured in pence, many people are still ignoring the huge amount of holiday offers online which could be saving them a substantial amount of money.
The biggest group missing out are people who aren’t using the internet at all to take a look for holidays. For many of us it seems crazy nowadays, but there are still thousands of UK tourists that use the travel agency as their only gateway to a holiday abroad. While there’s nothing wrong with using travel agents as part of your holiday search, using an agency without checking up on net prices first will mean you could miss out on some stunning holiday offers.
If nothing else, holiday listings online will let you compare hundreds of holiday offers at once. However, it’s not always as simple as going to the first site you find and hoping for the best – many people still miss out on great holiday deals simply because they end up on a site which is run by a single tour operator. While these sites may look great and seem to have a lot of cheap holidays, you aren’t looking at the absolute best prices unless you find a site which is truly independent and lists the best deals for every operator.
The last thing to remember when looking for holiday offers is that not every site lists the ‘price’ as the same thing. While one site might look more expensive than another or a high street agency, it’s just as likely that the higher price incorporates VAT or taxes where others don’t, so make sure you know exactly what you’re paying for before you put down the money on any holiday offer.
